The version you can plan around
Strip the geography out and the offer is a plan with fixed edges: a 6-month semester, one published price of CHF 26'200 with shared accommodation inside it, four start dates a year, and a defined destination — Year 1 of a BHMS bachelor degree, after the Certificate is completed.
The entry floor is stated up front, because it is real: minimum age 17, 5 iGCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent, English 5.0 / B2 or equivalent. A programme with a gate is a programme whose classroom your child can actually keep up in.
Who else is there
95+ countries in the classroom
Nobody in the room knows your old school. What they know is that everyone chose the same fresh setting — students from 95+ countries, working in English, most of them also on their first semester away from home.
That cohort is half the value of doing this abroad: six months of studying, eating and travelling with people from everywhere is its own education in the global industry you are stepping towards.

Straight answers
Is the Certificate taught in English?
Yes — the working language is English, and the entry requirement is English 5.0 / B2 or equivalent. The optional Languages for Global Hospitality module adds German, French or Spanish alongside it, which helps day to day in Lucerne.
Do I have to want a hospitality career?
No. The Certificate is designed to bridge into Year 1 of three BHMS bachelor degrees: BA Global Business Management, BA Hotel and Hospitality Management, BA Culinary Arts. One of the three is a straight business degree — hospitality is the school’s home turf, not a requirement for your future.
What are the entry requirements?
Minimum age 17, 5 iGCSEs including Maths and English, or equivalent, and English 5.0 / B2 or equivalent. That floor is real — this is a structured academic route with an eligibility gate, not an anything-goes programme. How safe is Switzerland for a teenager living away from home?
We print no safety rankings here because none are in our fact file — but the everyday texture is simple to describe: small cities, reliable public transport, and an orderly public life. Lucerne itself is compact and walkable, and students live in accommodation that is arranged before arrival, not found on the fly.
